Position Overview
Nehalem Bay Health Center & Pharmacy, located on the beautiful North Oregon Coast, has immediate openings for a Pharmacy Technician in both full-time and part-time capacities.
This position supports pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications and providing excellent customer service to patients and customers.
Full-time positions are fully benefited, including medical, dental, and vision coverage beginning on the first day of employment. This position is eligible for an additional 5% pay upon passing a Spanish proficiency test.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers and patients/customers by greeting them in person or by phone.
- Answer questions and requests.
- Refer appropriate inquiries to the pharmacist.
- Maintain proper storage and security conditions for medications.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by assisting in determining inventory levels, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and verifying orders, and removing outdated drugs.
- Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by following infection-control policies and protocols.
- Protect patient confidentiality by using two patient identifiers.
- Organize medications for pharmacist dispensing by reading medication orders, preparing labels, and calculating quantities.
- Assemble intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies, when applicable.
- Maintain records by recording and filing physicians’ orders and prescriptions.
- Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing information.

Qualifications
- Current Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
- Confidence in basic math skills.
- Experience entering insurance information into a pharmacy system.
- Experience with PioneerRx system preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Meets current State of Oregon COVID vaccination requirements for healthcare workers.
Physical Requirements

- Manual dexterity when inputting computer information.
- Exposure to normal noise, temperature, dust, and fume levels.
