Position Overview

Nehalem Bay Health Center & Pharmacy, located on the beautiful North Oregon Coast, has immediate openings for a Pharmacy Technician in both full-time and part-time capacities.

This position supports pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications and providing excellent customer service to patients and customers.

Full-time positions are fully benefited, including medical, dental, and vision coverage beginning on the first day of employment. This position is eligible for an additional 5% pay upon passing a Spanish proficiency test.

Duties
  • Assist healthcare providers and patients/customers by greeting them in person or by phone.
  • Answer questions and requests.
  • Refer appropriate inquiries to the pharmacist.
  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for medications.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory by assisting in determining inventory levels, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and verifying orders, and removing outdated drugs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees by following infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Protect patient confidentiality by using two patient identifiers.
  • Organize medications for pharmacist dispensing by reading medication orders, preparing labels, and calculating quantities.
  • Assemble intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies, when applicable.
  • Maintain records by recording and filing physicians’ orders and prescriptions.
  • Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing information.
  • Contribute to the team effort.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Current Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
  • Confidence in basic math skills.
  • Experience entering insurance information into a pharmacy system.
  • Experience with PioneerRx system preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Meets current State of Oregon COVID vaccination requirements for healthcare workers.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to communicate in person and by phone.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity when inputting computer information.
  • Exposure to normal noise, temperature, dust, and fume levels.
